BACKGROUND
PRIMA is offering two full scholarships and two partial scholarships for eligible PRIMA and non-PRIMA General/Station Managers/CEOs to attend its Fall 2011 Conference, October 5-7, in Cincinnati. PRIMA meetings begin Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. and conclude Friday at noon.
FULL SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
PRIMA offers two FULL SCHOLARSHIP that waives the conference registration fee; for current non-members of PRIMA, membership dues for one year ($200) are also waived. The FULL SCHOLARSHIPS also provides a subsidy to cover air and ground transportation, lodging and meals. The full scholarships reimburse up to $1,000 for actual expenses.
PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP also waives the registration fee and (if applicable) a year’s dues in PRIMA, and provides a limited subsidy to apply toward transportation, lodging, and meals. The partial scholarship reimburses up to $500 for actual expenses.
MAXIMUM MAY BE SET
The PRIMA Board reserves the right to set a maximum amount to be awarded for the scholarships, determined by need.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Preferably the applicant’s station will be located within the PRIMA region, though this requirement may be waived by the Board. The scholarships may be awarded on the basis of need or as encouragement to first time attendees. Applications are especially encouraged from stations that cannot afford to send their manager to a PRIMA conference or stations whose licensees do not pay for the managers’ travel.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applicants for the PRIMA scholarships must submit a letter of application by mail, or e-mail (see below) no later than September 15th, 5:00 PM ET. Alternatively, by September 13th, any PRIMA member may nominate a manager of an eligible station to receive a scholarship. For PRIMA members: please include information about why your travel to this conference would not be possible without a scholarship.

HOW THE DECISIONS WILL BE MADE
A scholarship committee of the PRIMA Board will select and notify the scholarship recipients by close of business September 19th, 2011. Please provide a phone number where the candidate can be reached at that time. PRIMA will work with the recipients to reimburse all eligible travel expenses.
RIGHTS RESERVED
PRIMA reserves the right not to award the scholarships, if the nature of the applications or nominations does not justify the awards.
